A Movie, a View, and a Much Better Round Two
After a wild first round of bispecific treatment, round two brought a welcome sense of calm, a cozy hospital date night, and new hope for what’s ahead.

Less Drama, More Healing
Last Wednesday, I had my second round of the bispecific treatment. And I’m so grateful to say—it went MUCH smoother than the first. Minimal symptoms, no midnight emergency calls, and absolutely no doubt I was going to pass the national bird handwriting challenge.
We checked into the hospital the evening before, and as expected, “start early” in hospital language means “maybe after lunch.” Treatment didn’t actually begin until around 2 pm, but we made the most of it.
George and I had a peaceful evening together—just the two of us, looking out over the city lights of downtown Dallas from our room window. We found a sweet movie on TV called Unsung Hero. Highly recommend. It was such a refreshing reminder of what it looks like to trust God through the messiness of life, and the beauty that can be found in family, sacrifice, and surrender. I don’t know if it was the setting or just the message, but it hit deep.
The next day’s infusion went incredibly well. My body tolerated it like a champ—no chills, no fevers, no middle of the night wake up calls to my doctor. Because of how smoothly it went, I’ve been cleared to do this week’s dose in the outpatient setting, even though it’ll be a much higher dose. It’ll probably be a long 7–8 hour infusion day, but the huge win is that we’ll get to go home afterward.
Starting this week, I’ll be getting both bispecifics and chemo every three weeks, which gives my body time to recover in between treatments. It also makes it easier to plan life around it—something that’s hard to come by these days.
I will have to continue time in isolation which is difficult for me when I want to lean in to my people for laughter and company, especially during the weeks when my counts will lower due to the chemo causing an increased risk of infections. However, I'm reminded of the love, thoughts, and prayers that continue to lift me up when I need it the most.
Here’s to round three—and every round after that.
Current Prayer Requests
To strengthen my personal relationship with Jesus
That I am able to stay healthy and continue to complete my treatments on schedule
For minimal unwanted side effects from the treatments itself
With all my love,
Blessy
